Named partly after a Python, all at Amethystine are animal lovers.
Meeting at a Russian Art show at the Saatchi Gallery, we adored the above cat picture upon first glance.
Jan
Constantine, who is known for her striking hand embroidered home textiles, launches the new Animal Collection. These striking animal and skin design cushions sit beautifully within Jan's existing
Tropical Paradise Collection. The heads of Tigers, Cheetahs, Zebras and Giraffes are surrounded by greenery, using patches of coloured felt, intricately stitched and appliqued, upon either a cream or
black wool felt background.
Jan
quotes "I created my new animal collection because I love the natural world and as a follow on from my tropical bird collection, which is very successful."
Sympathy vs Empathy
Still thinking of Saatchi Gallary, one not to miss right now is the START show,
featuring a strong selection of emerging artists including India's Owais Husai

Below is the exquisite MIDSUMMER Milano pillow, which was designed by the French Illistrator Jean-Luc Guerin. Read more in the 'Best Guest Bed' section, but we couldn't resist placing it here too, as they are so irresistable for animal lovers to snuggle up to!
Someone rumoured to love animals even more than we do, is Damien Lewis, pictured with his wife character Sophie Okonedo in the latest performance of Edward Albee's 'The Goat or who is Sylvia?'
Having seen some strong performances of the work before, AMETHYSTINE are keen to report on this performance at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket soon, so do keep visiting...

We are delighted that contemporary pop surrealist artist Robert Oxley has a new collection of signed limited and boutique edition art on show at Castle Fine Art, South Molton Street, London.
Robert approaches his acrylic paintings with freedom and expression. But behind his psychedelic creations lies a surprisingly meticulous attention to detail, as he explains: "My work appears loose and free but is in fact complex, which is what nature is all about.” His new collection takes inspiration from music, which he calls his first love.
