  • Tate St Ives won the 2018 Art Fund Museum of the Year

Art Fund director and Chair of the Judges Stephen Deuchar described the new extention to the museum as 'Deeply inteligent and breathtakingly beautiful'...

  •  Having its toes in the gushing waters of the river Calder, Wakefield's Art Gallery is a superb choice for a cultural day out.   It was also  a well deserved WINNER of the Art Fund Museum of the Year last year,  2017..

An art fund card will earn a good discount for purchases here,  and there are some other treats not too far away also!

  • We are delighted that,  following last years  December  Flood,  our favourite North London Gallery, James Freeman are open and once more thrilling us with some outrageously imaginative works.

From 8th to 28th March 2018,  another show not to miss from James Freeman was  'Makers of Marks'

Drawing and printmaking have much shared history and enjoy a deeply interwoven relationship, but even so, contemporary artists still find new ways of making them play off each other. In 'Makers of Marks' the gallery present three artists who experiment with this relationship against a background of classical references: Daniel Hosego, Sam Branton and Jon Braley.

Super Stylish Beds & Bedrooms

The stunningly sensual and soft to the touch MIDSUMMER Milano bed in an equally beautiful setting in Milan, Italy.

IIn the heart of Milan in a classic old building, is a private residence with a very personal touch.

The center piece of the master bedroom is the Soft to the Touch Midsummer bed, with its soft and reassuring presence. It is perfectly in line with the character of the house, an understated piece with a bold volume. The headboard is embraced by removable pillows, which lean on a precious Canaletto walnut insert for added height. Important details ensure the highest sleeping comfort: the bed base is made with hand-braided ribbons which are individually secured to the metal frame, and can be adjusted to obtain unique firmness patterns.

New Pure Collection of MIDSUMMER-Milano: the shape of sleeping is pure

"The purity of a simple but precious bed for finishes and materials, versatile and suitable for any environment. Sought-after simplicity, which contains work and research. Simple and beautiful in itself, conceals behind the appearance of lightness a work that you understand by living this bed over the years."

Chiara Mennini, founder & head designer

The MIDSUMMER bedroom was born to meet the need for a perfect rest through a sophisticated technical and an aesthetic response. The collection presented at the 2017 Milano fair is enriched with the new Pure model.

Starting from the bed, the core of the project, Midsummer is seeking the harmony of the night environment adding textiles and coordinated complements.

Pure, with the straight headboard satin covered in a chromatic range ranging from the unusual earth red to ortensia pink to the blue boreal night, with the boxspring and the handmade mattress, tells with a clear design the values that shaped it: craftsmanship, construction technique that adds real value, and the research, particularly evident in the mattress and in the boxspring and in the most precious materials suitable for skin contact, natural and sustainable. The feminine taste is then expressed in the detail of the "punto Cavallo" embroidery on the sheets.
